An American-themed concert will be performed by the Launceston Philharmonic Orchestra at the Albert Hall on Saturday, October 15, at 7.30pm. A program of powerful, well-known works by Copland, Gershwin and Dvorak will be recreated by the City of Launceston Philharmonic Orchestra at their final concert for 2016. The sixty-piece, community-based orchestra brings together professional musicians and experienced amateurs to showcase some of the world’s most exciting music. Conductor Stephen King said they were thrilled to be presenting such a diverse repertoire of music. “There is nothing quite like presenting the works with a wonderful orchestra,” Mr King said. “The wonderful acoustics and aesthetics of the Albert Hall will add to the evening’s musical drama.”
Tickets for the concert are available from Barratts Music or at the door on the night.
